What’s SEPA?
The European Union (EU) developed the single euro payments area (SEPA), to unify the way cashless payments are made between euro member states.
Consisting of 36 European countries, the SEPA zone is a single euro payments market, which allows for simplified cross-border money transfers at reduced transaction rates.
Full list of the EU countries that are part of the SEPA Zone:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta,
Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.
Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, the Vatican City,
and the United Kingdom are not part of the European Union (EU).
*Please note that the UK is no longer a member of the EU or the EEA, but it is still a member of SEPA.
